Used for my 07 Lexus is350 trans rebuild and torque converter replacement. 154k mi and was slipping every gear, delayed shifting. My mechanic in Huntington ct and friend at Subaru dealer use them for all their trans work. Great guys and service. It was Fixed and I was not expecting the car to run the same but it ran like brand new. Shifts are perfect with paddles or in reg auto. I had forgotten how quick the car was since I drove around a long time with bad transmission. 12k/1 year warranty was a pleasant surprise I wasn’t expecting. Great guys and service, kept me informed throughout. Will use again if needed.

Dr. Nick's removed and replaced my entire drivetrain. She drives like a dream now! They followed up with my throughout the entire process and completed the job with ease. Recently had Lexus 07is350 tranny rebuilt by these guys. Also new torque converter. 154k on it and it was slipping every gear. The guys there are very friendly and knowledgeable. Did the work and it runs like brand new which given the age I didn't think it would really be the same again. If you know the is350, it's a rocket stock and with that familiar snap of second gear and hard accel through third it reminded me I when I test drive it first time. I am in love again. The 12000mi /1 yr warranty was also a pleasant surprise. I found out that my regular mechanic in Huntington ct and a friend who works at Subaru used this place for all trans work, so I called them up. Great service and stayed in touch with me throughout. Will use again if I need them.

I called the shop and told them I have a transmission problem, (it wasn’t shifting to a second gear) and told them that Mercedes dealer is asking for $5000 to fix it and the guy (owner) told me “oh it is not gonna be even close to $5000 if we fix it” I said okay then lets do it. He said he is gonna send a tow truck free of charge( for which I had to pay $145), towed my car. I gotta call the next day they said “oh you need a new transmission and a new drive shaft and total cost is gonna be $5200. I said the drive shaft wasn’t broken i drove my car onto the tow truck. They said it was bent and when they pulled the transmission they broke it which has to be their problem. I said no i wouldn’t fix the car for $5200 and asked them to tow me back, he said it is gonna be $800 for the labor( basically for braking by drive shaft and killing my batter). Sounded like a complete SCAM! I had no choice but take the car and pay $800, then his F..ing son didn’t want to put my transmission back we had a big argument over it and then they put it back 3 days later. I towed the car back paying from my own pocket , when I got home I realized they killed my battery. I added the receipt as a proof of my words. Stay away from these SCAMMERS.

I would have given 5 stars; I liked Shawn and Nick Sr. And Jr., and had a great experience there over the summer. Unfortunately, my warranty company, GWC, was very difficult and cheap, and Dr. Nick’s did not want to do business with them any longer. I ended up getting stuck in the middle and shelling out way more money than my deductible. Therefore, they did not want to address a new concern with the replacement transmission a couple months later. I was disappointed and frustrated and had to take my vehicle elsewhere.

There are few things left in this world that are as good the the people at Dr. Nicks. We were traveling and passing through Connecticut our rear ebd started whining. Get to Dr. Nicks who quickly diagnosed us, helped us get a rental car at a discount and started work the next day. Ultimately we need to get it towed home and they were nice enough to let us leave the car there until the tow could pick it up. Also, they did do some work and the price was exactly what I expected to pay and they could have easily taken advantage of our bad situation. I wouldn’t hesitate to use these guys for any repair ever. Good to see there are still kind people in this world.
